Francis M. CORNFORD Francis Macdonald Cornford was born on February 27, 1874 in Sussex, England. During his youth he distinguished himself as a promising student of Latin and Greek. After his graduation he entered Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1894 to pursue a course of classical studies. Then he became the pupil of Henry Jackson, and they worked together.
